We got several quotes for our pool, we wanted a very specific custom design, they were happy to work with us and help us get exactly what we wanted. Jim came to our home with his laptop and did the design and quote right there and then. Allowing us to tweak it to get the design we wanted. Making as many adjustments as we wanted. Once everything was planned permits were pulled and construction began. We have built 2 pools before, but this was the first in the COVID19 era. Things are different now and definitely take longer than before. Overall we absolutely love our pool. It is exactly as it was designed and we believe we got great value for money. Hank the owner was very helpful and was there to make sure every thing went as planned. We highly recommend them for your pool building needs.

Our experience with Thompson pools has been wonderful. We shopped around and decided to go with Thompson pools a local company for a personalized custom touch and thats exactly what we got! Jim was excellent and knowledgeable when it came to working out the most custom designs to fill our needs. The entire process was smooth and timely. All the crews were punctual, friendly and a joy to work with. Hank the owner personally visited the project periodically and Tate the project manager kept us up to date and was in constant communication with us throughout the project. Parker was a wealth of knowledge to help me get the pool up and running. Everyone has heard horror stories associated with their pool installations and this was simply NOT the case with Thompson pools. I would highly recommend them!

From the initial meeting to discuss our ideas, to design, construction and post-install servicing, we have been very happy with the service and communication throughout the process. Jim, our sales rep, helped us create the exact vision we wanted in our design. Taite, the Project Manager, communicated and explained every step of the way and answered my MANY calls every time. (Thanks, Taite!) The crews were all very respectful and careful around our property even in the small strip between our house and the neighbor’s house. No damage, yay! Adding a Pool to your home can be an overwhelming experience. Working with the team at Thompson’s Pool and Spa made this experience a lot less stressful. Working with Jim Echo on design process, selecting material, color and overall layout was family fun. Thompson Pools is, hands-down, the best pool company out there.
Here's my story:
I was very nervous about putting in a pool based on all the horror stories from family, friends and neighbors. Plus our backyard is on a steep hill thus a difficult build. Some pool companies said it was impossible. We interviewed 5 or so companies and Jim was the only person who was confident they could build on this lakefront hill. He was also the only sales person to actually listen to what we wanted. His initial design was exactly what we asked for. Then his ideas and recommendations took this pool to another level.
Once construction started I was holding my breath waiting for the trouble to start. It never did. The entire process was very smooth and stress free. Taite was always available and ready to take action on any questions or concerns we had along the way. To my surprise the pool was completed within a few weeks of the original schedule shown on the calendar.
Every employee we encountered was knowledgeable and cares about what they are doing. They collectively want you to have a good experience and to love your pool. They have continued to follow up after the pool was completed to ensure we're happy. When we told them we were having our first pool party, they told us to send a message if anything went wrong and they would be on call for us. In no way is this a "take your money and run" company. They clearly care about their reputation and they truly want you to be 100% happy with your pool.

Building a pool is a huge undertaking and can be overwhelming. We did lots of research, read reviews and spoke to a former customer of Thompson. We received three different estimates and ultimately contracted with Thompson. From our initial meeting with the Salesperson we felt at ease. Jim Ecohardt carefully listened to our wants, concepts and vision. He took his time to draft a design based on our ideas and then he shared his expertise with us and made suggestions and created another draft and WOW! We had a former neighbor that started their pool three weeks ahead of us. Our pool is completed and they have at least 60 days or more to go. With any project there will be some opportunities. Thompson uses a portal that provides the customer direct access to all scheduling. The portal allows you to send messages and photos to all the members of the Thompson team. Taite was so easy to work with. When we had any concerns or questions. He over communicated with us and promptly addressed any issues. Customer service is first and foremost with Thompson! The ultimate measure of a company is, knowing what you know having completed the project would you hire the same company, 100% without hesitation I would hire Thompson Pool and Spa again! Thank you Hank, Jim, Taite, Jordan, Parker and all the others that helped make our backyard an oasis.

If you are looking to build a new custom pool and/or spa you definitely should meet with Thompson Pools & Spas! They built our dream pool and we have had nothing but compliments and a little envy!

Jim Echo, our designer, met with us promptly and had the initial 3D design over to us in just a day or two. He did such a good job listening during our meeting that we only made a few tweaks to the initial design.

After signing the contract our back yard went from grass to the completed shell in just 8 or 9 working days. IMPRESSIVE.

Taite, the project manager, did a great job keeping us in the loop with every aspect of the build. He was always very responsive and answered any questions very promptly.

I had the pleasure of meeting a few of the different crews and they were fantastic - Thanks to Kayle & Adam who did the plumbing; the kids love the bubblers and deck jets. Randy and John, the glass tile work on the raised spa is sick! Sergio, the travertine deck looks amazing! Parker, thanks for everything you did setting up all the pool automation and teaching us how to use it.

Building a pool is a big decision, so when we decided to build, we did our homework, asked others in the community, and decided to go with Thompson Pools & Spas. From the beginning everything went smooth. We first met with our sales representative Jim at our home. We gave him an idea of what we would like and within a couple of days, he provided us with an initial drawing of what we requested. After seeing our idea in print, we decided it wasn't exactly what we wanted, so Jim provided us with a couple of other ideas that turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. We are more than happy with how our pool turned out. The staff at Thompson were all very easy to work with and did an excellent job of keeping us informed of the status of our project. The total time of construction was far better than many projects I have seen within our community. Construction began on January 10, 2023 and we were able to fill our pool around the 20th of April 2023. After meeting with several pool builders, we built a pool with Thompson Pools and Spas. We were pleased with their prices, professionalism, and family-like atmosphere. The 100% deciding factor was that Jim Echo completely captured our vision in the design and exceeded expectations. Jim created a beautiful pool within our budget, including our must-have features without excessive add-ons. He was very professional and helpful during the design process. We met with him numerous times before signing, including in the evenings and on weekends to accommodate our work schedule. He did not pressure us and designed a beautiful pool for us. Their office is very organized and efficient, is is a well-oiled machine. Jim remained accessible throughout the process. Once we entered the construction phase, we were most impressed with our project manager, Taite, and the rest of the construction staff. We received daily updates from Taite, and frequent updates/calendar/emails from the office. He was also very responsive and returned calls the day of our inquiry. The request was addressed immediately. We coined the phrase, "Taite is great!"

Taite did an excellent job keeping us well-informed about the entire process and answered questions we had in great detail. We were first-time pool purchasers, Tate was extremely patient and thorough. You can tell that he cares deeply about his job, and it showed in the quality of our pool and timeliness of the project. Our project was completed in a timely manner - ahead of projection, with the dig taking place soon after the permit was issued. The workers were courteous and clean they always cleaned up when they finished working for the day. Our neighbors even complimented us on how clean and neat the process was compared to other builds in the area. To top our fabulous experience off, we had the pleasure of meeting Hank on our project. Hank, the owner of Thompson Pools and Spas came out twice to meet us and check on the job. Wow! We didn't build a big, expensive, extravagant pool, but the owner took time out of his busy schedule to check on our project. He was attentive and sincere. It made us feel even more confident in our project.
When the pool was filled, we were happy with SPI, who balanced the water and chemicals while getting the pool ready to swim. The SPI team is friendly and always willing to answer questions and spend time explaining the details of maintaining a pool. Just when we thought we were coming to the end of our Thompson Pool and Spas experience … we were introduced to Parker. Parker has a wealth of knowledge and a professional can-do attitude. We hired Thompson Pools during covid after doing lots of research and getting multiple quotes. Thompson Pools gave us the confidence right from the beginning and genuinely wanted to create our backyard dream into a reality. The process was smooth right from the start and their timeline was right on track. I have truly had the best experience with Thompson Pools. Due to a long home construction process I was worried they would be upset the pool was taking a long time to complete. This was not the case at all! They regularly checked in with me to see how the process was going, and immediately began construction on the pool again when we were ready. Upon completion, they did not turn over the pool and say good luck. They have been responsive each time I called with a question, or believed something was not working correctly. Our pool is beautiful and we are very happy with it! I believe what made our experience great was the customer service and attention we received. Thank you Parker, Taite, and Jim for everything!

I am very grateful to Thompson Pools and Spas for building our pool. They were recommended by a home builder who said they are the only company they would use to install their pools. They were also the only company to promptly respond during a crazy busy (Covid) pool building era. After trying for a month to get several other local pool builders to respond at all, the other builders would only give me minimum ballpark estimates which did not include all the upgrades we got automatically with Thompson’s quote. More importantly, in this sellers’ market I got the feeling the other pool builders were not interested in our “smaller” project. So again, I am thankful for Thompson.

Our sales/design guy was Jim who quickly sent over a preliminary drawing and quote. We then went to meet with him in the office and I enjoyed our first meeting with him so much that we signed with him that night. I then cancelled the three other meetings I was finally able to secure with the other builders in the following weeks. We signed at the end of April and the dig started in August. Our pool was completed mid-December just in time for Christmas swim! There were no major issues along the way and we loved all the workers who came to our house. Our pool looks beautiful and our kids are excited. We paid the contracted price and nothing more.

I am now entering the last few weeks of my pool build with Thompson Pools & Spas and felt compelled to write a review. As a recent Florida transplant, first order of business was building a swimming pool in our new home. I spoke to neighbors and friends, searched on Facebook, and all I found were customers with horror stories in the area, and pool builds taking as long as 18 months. After talking to several pool companies and receiving several quotes, I decided to go with Thompson Pools as I heard good things.

From the jump, I expressed my main concern was visibility on the project and having a go to person to call with my concerns. Thompson Pools over delivered on my expectations in this regard. I was giving access to an application I could install on my smartphone (also web access) where everything related to my job was notated. Awesome! I have spent everyday during the entire pool build checking out my project in the app. Everytime a new item was added, or I had a question, I would call the office, and without fail, my calls were always answered by Taite. Taite is super professional and always made time for my questions/concerns. I like to be involved and learn what is going on with my house projects, so I was quite annoying I am sure, calling Thompson 3 - 5 times a week, and Taite always picked up and was always professional and always answered my questions. Just a great customer service experience.

I noted other reviews mentioned Thompson uses subcontractors for some parts of the build, I can verify that`s true (not sure if thats the norm). However, Thompson was on top of every subcontractor that did come out and if I had any issues with anything I saw, they were reported and Thompson rectified the matter right away. Again, great customer service.

This pool build is the biggest house project undertaking I have ever been involved in, and I am glad I did it with Thompson Pools.
